Mattes takes first official visit

Offensive tackle R.J. Mattes from Robinson High in Concord, N.C., was one of the first official visitors NC State hosted this year. He had already seen a pair of NC State games on unofficial visits - the season opening loss to Central Florida and a big win over Virginia. This time Mattes was in town for the annual against rival North Carolina, and he came away impressed.

Mattes has seen quite a few games this fall among his five finalists - Clemson, NC State, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. He has visited Chapel Hill for games against South Carolina and UVA, Clemson for their Labor Day opener versus FSU and Columbia for its SEC battle with Mississippi State.
