Dowtin didnít want to leave Athens
Three of the six official visitors in Athens this weekend were already committed to Georgia before their visits began. One of those committed prospects was four-star linebacker Marcus Dowtin. Dowtin chose UGA early in the fall and was anticipating a great visit to Athens. This was his first game experience and he lets us know if this visit met his expectations or not and just how he felt at the end of the trip.
"It was just what I expected this weekend, I had a great time," said Dowtin about his first Georgia game day experience. "I expected the fans to be great, for Georgia to play great and for it to be a lot of fun and it was all of that."
Dowtin could not have selected a better time to visit Athens than Blackout Auburn Saturday. The Dawgs asked the fans to wear black and then they revealed black jerseys for the first time ever. This UGA commitment loved what he saw.
"The black jerseys created a lot of excitement and the fans went crazy when the team came out. The players did not even expect to wear them, so the fans did not know anything. It was crazy and real exciting."
"I think the team got extra excited when the coaches showed them in the locker room that they were going to wear them. I think it made them play a little harder and it gave them even more energy. I thought it was great and I was ready to play."
