BREAKING NEWS: Beavs land big time Texas RB
Last year, the Oregon State football coaching staff tapped into Texas to land James Rodgers, who's making a name for himself as a true freshman this season. The aim was to start up a pipeline into the Lone Star State and it appears it has paid off. The Beavers have struck again in Texas in the Class of 2008, and they didn't have to wander too far away from where they landed Rodgers as young brother Jacquizz Rodgers has decided to join in the fun in Corvallis starting next fall.
For Rodgers, it really was about the chance at early playing time that had the Beavers out in front. He also likes the scheme that OSU runs and feels that he'll fit right in.
Rodgers hopes to schedule his official visit to OSU in the near future, as during his unofficial visit to campus he really only took in the game and didn't have time to see much else. But that visit probably won't happen for awhile as he's currently busy with his senior season at Lamar Consolidated.
