Bowie CB encouraged by Tiger season

Coming into the season, Arlington (TX) Bowie CB Kip Edwards wanted to make his senior season one he wouldn't forget. Now six games into the season, Edwards has been more than pleased in his pursuit of that goal, even if he didn't think he was part of the reason.

With most of his attention focused on his season, Edwards said it has been nice to see that recruiting has not changed much in the last few weeks. He said that in the past few weeks, he has continued to get calls from a number of different schools.

Edwards said that one of the favorite calls he gets each week has been from Missouri. He said that he and coach Dave Steckel have forged a good relationship over the past few months and the advice he has gotten from the coach has been quite helpful.

For Edwards, Missouri has continued to grow in his eyes, especially on the defensive side of the ball. It hasn't been one player or position, but Edwards said he has been impressed with the improvement from week to week.

The offense has also impressed Edwards, although he admitted he got more encouragement watching the defense. He said that with Missouri's offense, he just knew that points were going to be on the board soon.

Edwards said that while he is focusing on his season at Bowie, he would have to wait to set up visits to schools. He added that outside of Missouri, he wasn't sure where he may go, but the Tigers were making it very hard for him to look elsewhere.

Along the same lines, Edwards added that while he has had the Tigers at the top of his list for nearly a month now, the past two weeks have been very encouraging to him. Not only have they kept him excited about Missouri, but they have helped put distance between the Tigers and everyone else on his list.
