Sprague enjoying a senior revival

BOULDER, Colo. - Senior wide receiver Dusty Sprague appropriately described his college career at the University of Colorado as a roller coaster ride.

"I have been through the scandal, I've been through some rough times, I've been through good times, won some [Big 12] North Championships but haven't won that Big 12 Championship yet," he expressed. "So hopefully we can keep getting better this season and accomplish that goal.

"For us seniors, especially the guys that have been here for five years, we have been through a lot and we want to end this thing on the right note. And then we'll know we have left the program in a position where it can keep going up."

In 2005, Sprague became the first sophomore to lead the Buffs in receiving since Michael Westbrook in 1992. He was just the fourth sophomore to do so over the previous 37 seasons.

But Sprague's junior campaign was marred by injuries and lack of playing time. He caught just 11 passes for 179 yards with no touchdowns.

A hard working, team first type of player, Sprague's patience in the new system has paid dividends the last two weeks.
