McDaniel makes an unofficial visit

One of the reasons Texas Tech's Air Raid offense has chugged along at an alarming rate in the past few seasons is the outstanding play of the offensive line. Take this year for example- despite working with their third coach since January, this year's unit has followed up on last year's excellent performance and has been giving Graham Harrell all day and then some to make his reads. Oh yeah, and they're breaking in four new starters too.

Part of that success has to be attributed to Mike Leach and Co. knowing exactly what they need in an offensive lineman and going out and recruiting the linemen that fit their specifications. They really like tall, rangy, athletic linemen with long wingspans who can play in space, and they succeed at an alarming rate in recruiting prospects that meet those criteria.

Case in point, New Diana High School star Terry McDaniel, who committed to Tech earlier this fall. McDaniel, who stands at an imposing 6-foot-7 and weighs in at 328-pounds, is incredibly nimble for his size, and figures to fit Tech's system very well.

The three-year starter, who holds offers from Tech, LSU, Arizona, Kansas State, Colorado and others.
