Sunday Notebook: Richt updates injuries

Georgia coach Mark Richt watched with interest Auburn's upset win over Florida Saturday night.

What does it mean for the Bulldogs? Well, actually nothing.

"For us, we still don't control our own destiny, South Carolina still controls that when it comes to us," Richt said during Sunday's teleconference. "I guess now, except for Kentucky, everybody's got a loss in the East with the majority of the schedule left. It probably makes it more of a free-for-all than it was. I think everybody feels now they've got a real chance, and they do."

That being said, the loser of Saturday's 3:30 game between the Bulldogs (4-1, 2-1) and Tennessee (2-2, 0-1) will find itself in a real disadvantage, though it would still be conceivable that a two-loss team might still win the East.

"Only time will tell if (Saturday's game) will eliminate somebody, but I do think whoever loses won't necessarily think they're out of it and just start focusing on other goals," Richt said. "I think everybody would still have a shot at making it, although (losing) would definitely be a blow."
