Bruins bounce back
The way UCLA started out the game one could have thought the Bruins were back in Salt Lake City. The first two plays from scrimmage for the Bruins were fumbles by Kahlil Bell and both were recovered by Oregon State.
In what was a precursor for things to come, UCLA's defense was stout and the Beavers came up with the help of a huge offensive penalty that negated a first down forcing the Beavers to kick a field but came up nothing after Alexis Serna missed a 45-yard attempt. Serna would have a rough day.
Oregon State's defense didn't leave anything for chance on Bell's second fumble as safety Al Afalava caught it in mid air and brought it back to the house 33 yards giving the Beavers a 7-0 lead.
After a three and out for the Bruins, Aaron Perez hit a 49-yard punt and the Beavers started play at their 39-yardline then had their best drive of the game.
The Beavers went on an 11 play, 61-yard drive for a score and took what looked like a commanding lead 14-0.
