Creek has left Maryland for South Kent

September 3, 2007 - Labor Day is a time where Americans honor the labor movement and related efforts in the industrialization of this country, by enjoying a national holiday by relaxing, visiting with family and friends, and even cooking out.

In another sense the day is commonly viewed as the informal end to summer, and consequently beginning of fall.

For Maurice Creek, also known as 'Mo', this Labor Day marks a personal transition for him. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound junior guard will no longer terrorize opponents of Oxon Hill High School (MD), as he recently said, "After Labor Day, I will be going to South Kent (School)."

Having advanced his all-around game considerably this spring and summer - Creek was always a great shooter, but now can handle, defend, pass, and rebound against top high school-aged competition - Mo said, "Probably the one (point guard) or two (shooting guard)" when queried what position he expected to play for his new school's prep team coach and Co-Athletic Director, Raphael Chillious.

Creek's reason for making the change was two-fold.
