Match-up watch for Saturday's Nevada vs. Nebraska

Each week, HuskersIllustrated.com will breakdown the key match-up's heading into Saturday's game. This week, there are several intriguing match-ups heading into the Nevada game.

One of the most interesting match-ups should come on defense for Nebraska. Sophomore Husker defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh is set to face off against back-up center Josh Catapano. This appears to be a huge edge for the Huskers on paper.

Ndamukong Suh vs. Josh Catapano

There's no question the biggest potential match-up on paper in this game is Nebraska defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh vs. Nevada center Josh Catapano.

The Wolf Pack's regular starting center Dominic Green will miss Saturday's game with an injury. Green is on the pre-season Rimington Award watch list, and he went down with an injury earlier in training camp.

Heading into the season, Catapono was actually Nevada's No. 3 center, but the player ahead of him on the depth chart was kicked off the team for getting into an altercation with head coach Chris Ault in practice.

With that said, I'm going to take Suh any day of the week in a match-up against a No. 3 center from the WAC conference. This match-up has the potential to get ugly and allow Suh to dominate the line of scrimmage.

Nebraska offensive line vs. Nevada defensive line

On the flip side, I also think Nebraska's offensive line could have a significant advantage up front against Nevada's defensive line.

NU's line is the deepest and biggest it's been in a number of years, and there's no question that head coach Bill Callahan will try to pound the ball at Nevada around 40 times on Saturday with his committee of running backs.
