Practice Report: Game week begins

Monday marks the beginning of game week for the Crimson Tide football team as they prepare for their season opener on Saturday against Western Carolina. Here are a few highlights from Monday afternoon's practice:

* The Crimson Tide held their practice indoors on Monday working in the Hank Crisp Indoor Practice Facility due to thunderstorms in the Tuscaloosa area. The team worked in shorts and shoulderpads.

* The Tide enters game week with very limited injuries with just three players likely to miss the season opener. Offensive lineman Cody Davis, placekicker Jamie Christensen and running back Demetrius Goode all worked with the strength and conditioning team on Monday while defensive tackle Nick Gentry worked with the team in a black non-contact jersey.

* Linebacker Prince Hall and wide receiver Keith Brown continued to work with the second team during Monday's practice as they did for most of last week. Head coach Nick Saban announced on Monday morning that Hall and Brown would both serve a one game suspension this week for breaking team rules.

* The Tide defensive backs focused on shedding blocks during individual drills while the rest of the defense focused on reacting quickly to the no-huddle offense, which the Tide's opening opponent will likely employ.
