Tigers add another Texas lineman

The Missouri Tigers continue to fill up their recruiting class faster than any year in recent memory. Late on Friday night, the Tigers got word from another player that wanted to join the Class of 2008. Gilmer, Texas, offensive lineman Daniel Jenkins committed to Mizzou.

Jenkins is a player who picked up his first offer from the Tigers. Many smaller schools are actively recruiting him in Texas and Air Force and Texas A&M had shown some interest. Gilmer coach Jeff Traylor said that Texas and Oklahoma had also shown some interest in Jenkins, but it was the Tigers' offense that drew him to Missouri.

Gilmer also runs the spread offense and Jenkins plays both left and right tackle.

Jenkins goes 6-foot-4, 285 pounds right now. He said Missouri's coaches would like him to put on a little more weight in the next year and play tackle on the collegiate level. Jenkins has seen the Tiger campus, but it's been a while.
