Up close with freshman WR Niles Paul

Over the course of fall camp, HuskersIllustrated.com will go up close with each of the newcomers in Nebraska's class of 2007.

Rivals100 wide receiver Niles Paul, from Omaha (Neb.) Central was the top rated prospect in the class of 2007. Today we caught up with the former top ranked in-state prospect and got his early perspectives and thoughts about life in Lincoln. Read what he had to say about what he brings to the table at NU and more.

What is your biggest strength as a receiver?

My main strength, is my strength getting off of the ball. I'm a strong receiver and stronger than most DB's."

Even though it's early on in your career, do you feel ready to play at this level?

"Yeah, I can definitely play with these guys. I just have to get adjusted to this level of play. The biggest eye-opener is the speed of the game. The (U.S.) Army All-American game was fast, but this game was so much faster than that game. So, I have to adjust to the speed of the game."

Is there one defensive back that you don't like going up against?

"My rival, Cortney Grixby. It's just in practice though. He's small, but he's powerful. He gets me off the ball every time. I just have got to learn how to beat him off with my technique. I have to release inside, release outside, it depends on what the play is."
