Auburn hit hard by injuries
Auburn has been hit hard by injuries this week with two key backups going down with major injuries. The worst came Friday when senior defensive tackle Tez Doolittle inured his Achilles during a pass rush drill.
What was initially thought to be a strained Achilles turned out to be a full tear and Doolittle will miss the entire season.
"I hate it for him," said AU head coach Tommy Tuberville. "It's his fifth year. He's graduated. It's unfortunate that he stretched it and it popped. He won't play this year. They're operating on him Monday, I think."
The loss of Doolittle, who was AU's second-team noseguard, was also tough on his teammates.
