Hail to the chief
If there were any questions about Utah's leadership, Brian Johnson is looking to put those to rest in a hurry. Johnson has looked strong in fall camp and has emerged as the unabashed leader of the Utah offense. Johnson is on the cusp of what could be a breakout season both individually and as a team, and he knows it. UteZone caught up with Johnson after practice to get his impression on the first days of fall camp.
UteZone.com: So Brian, how are you feeling?
Brian Johnson: I'm feeling great. It's good to be back out here in the pads, with the guys. It's a great feeling. I'm just excited to get going and just trying to continue to keep getting better each and every day.
UteZone.com: How do you describe this team's work ethic, and compare it a little to the work ethic last year.
Brian Johnson: It's night and day. The attitude is totally different. The leadership, and I think that's where it all begins, it starts with the leadership - the guys who are seniors and juniors and upper classmen who know what it takes to be 8-5, and we don't want that anymore. We want something better. So we realize that if what we want in the future is different than what we have now, we need to change the way we do stuff. So we need to come out with the intensity and the mentality that we need to come to work every day, and we can't ever take a day off.
