Talking to the Hawk

Now heading into his final season as a member of the Cal football team, veteran wide receiver Lavelle Hawkins is one piece of what some people around the country are calling the most dynamic receiving trio in the country. BearTerritory caught up with the Stockton native to get his thoughts on the upcoming year, how he handles the mental aspects of the game, and his experiences playing in the SEC.

An honorable mention All-Pac-10 selection last season, Hawkins ranked second on the team with 46 catches 705 yards and five touchdowns. A nice complement opposite All-American wide out DeSean Jackson, Hawkins - along with fellow teammate Robert Jordan - forced opposing defenses to cover the entire field despite the presence of Jackson on the left side.
