UGASports TV: Washington is Freak of Nature

UGASports.com is constantly on the road visiting recruits, evaluating prospects and putting together features for all those Dawg fans. We traveled to Burke County High School recently to see Cornelius Washington also known as "The Freak" put his speed to the test. He ran a 4.51 in the forty-yard dash a year ago. What did he run this time? You can watch him run and find out his time inside.

Prospect: Cornelius Washington

High School: Burke County (Waynesboro, Ga.)

Class: 2008

Position: Defensive End

Vitals: 6-foot-4, 227-pounds

Offers: Georgia offered in July of 2006 and he committed that day.

Favorites: Committed to Georgia

The Skinny: Washington is one of the top ends in the country. He is explosive off the edge and the ceiling for him is very high at Georgia. He is still very raw at end, but his speed allows him to take over games on the high school level. He has all the tools physically to be very good in Athens. Once he learns the position, adds a little weight and grows into his body, then watch out.

Last summer we watched Washington run the 40-yard dash in 4.51 seconds at the University of Georgia football camp. That hot day in July is when the Dawgs offered him and Washington committed at that time.

We set up a day to test Washington with the Burke County coaching staff and we are going to let you see this explosive athlete run the 40-yard dash, short shuttle and the 3-cone drill.

Make sure you check Washington out inside, you will not be disappointed. His times are posted on the video, so check it out.
