Pugh talks UVa visit, sets decision date

Charlotte (N.C.) Independence cornerback Makiri Pugh (6-foot, 194 pounds, 4.42 seconds) is one of the top players in the Tar Heel State for 2008. Pugh narrowed his list to five schools last week. Virginia was the surprise on the list because it was the only program that had not offered. Pugh visited Charlottesville over the weekend and returned home with a new offer, a shortened list and a decision date.

"I visited UVa on Saturday and it was a great visit," said Pugh.

The Independence standout visited Virginia after receiving increased interest from the Cavaliers and assistant Mike Groh. Entering the weekend, UVa had not extended a scholarship offer to Pugh.
