Mattes changes recruiting strategy

Concord (N.C.) Robinson offensive tackle R.J. Mattes (6-foot-7, 270 pounds, 5.1 seconds) is one of the most sought after prospects in the state of North Carolina in 2008 and one of the top offensive lineman in the nation. Mattes had listed four programs consistently as his leaders heading into the evaluation period. With a flood of new offers coming in, the Tar Heel State prospect is changing his approach.

"Louisville, Illinois, Michigan State and Miami are the latest schools to offer me," said Mattes. "I wasn't expecting this kind of attention. I am excited by the many opportunities but I think it will have an impact on my original thoughts on the timing of my decision."
