Thomas takes education on the road

The school year ended for Carlton Thomas on Tuesday, but his education is just beginning.

One of the top super backs on the West Virginia board, the 5-foot-7, 160 pounder already has been offered by the Mountaineers, Southern Cal, Auburn and Notre Dame. At 17, some think he is actually shiftier than prize 5-star recruit Noel Devine. As a junior, Thomas rushed 170 times for 2,283 yards (13.5 average) and 28 touchdowns.

He said on Tuesday that head coach Brad Metheny and he would be taking a tour of college campuses in June. It is a visitation process that will take them to Morgantown, Auburn, Clemson and Arkansas.
