Things opening up for Hurst

Recruiting started out fairly slow for Plainfield, Ind., TE Nelson Hurst, but then the early evaluation period arrived. He now holds four scholarship offers, with more schools scheduled to be on campus before the end of the month. One of those schools, however, has been there since day one, so still holds a spot in his heart. Where does the process currently stand?

"Things are going good," he said. "UCLA offered today (Tuesday). Purdue and Central Michigan offered too." That combined with an early offer from Mississippi State brings his total to four, but more schools could be following suit.

"I have gotten calls from Purdue, Mississippi State, UCLA, South Carolina, and others," he continued. "There's been a good bit of schools come by. Today, Iowa and Kentucky came by, tomorrow, Mississippi State is coming by."
