More bad luck for the LBs

The Georgia Bulldogs' linebackers suffered another setback Tuesday afternoon when redshirt freshman Akeem Dent learned he had a broken foot. Dent joins a long list of injuries at the linebacker position heading into the summer.

Dent suffered the injury during a ball drill exercise when he landed on his foot the wrong way. A native of Atlanta, Dent should be out for six to eight weeks and he expects to return to by late June or mid-July at the latest. When Dent returns from his injury he is expected to compete with Darius Dewberry for the starting Sam linebacker spot this fall.

Dent joins Darryl Gamble (broken foot) and Marcus Washington (torn LCL) as the latest injury to the already thin linebacker core. Gamble's foot injury is almost fully healed, but Washington's injury may keep him out for the some of the 2007 season.
