Dayton home to two of 2009ís best
The Dayton Broncos have tasted district championships and playoff success on a number of occasions under head coach Jerry Stewart. With the playoff appearances on a consistent basis in the last decade, Dayton has produced a number of division one prospects. The 2007-08 Dayton team will be no different, with the exception of the two juniors that are division-one prospects Broncos.
Returning on offense for Dayton are quarterback Cody Green and jack-of-all-trades A.J. Dugat, along with three first team all-district defenders. Combined with a handful of other starters returning and the 2007-08 Dayton team will be faced with lofty expectations in a community accustomed to playoff appearances.
The 6-4, 190-pound Green is coming off of a sophomore season in which he completed 105 of 171 passes (10 interceptions) for 1, 429 yards and 19 touchdowns. For his efforts, Green was awarded the 22-4A Newcomer of the Year. The right-handed signal caller also rushed for 333 yards and three scores on 51 attempts. Adding to the impressive season Green put together is the fact that he didn't take over full-time for the Broncos until week five.
