Taiwan Easterling ready to shine
Taiwan Easterling definitely took the unconventional path to Florida State. The three-star athlete had committed to Southern Miss and was all ready to sign with the Eagles until the weekend before signing day. It was after an impromptu visit to Florida State, that the 5-foot-11, 192-pound speedster decided he was going to be a 'Nole. The problem is that he didn't have a Letter of Intent from FSU on National Signing Day. But after a little maneuvering, and a lot of drama Easterling became a 'Nole a few weeks later.
After all that, the Oak Grove High School (Mississippi) star can't wait to get to Tallahassee.
"I'm really excited about it," said Easterling, "I talk to Coach (Mickey) Andrews, he came down to the school, so I had a chance to talk to him."
The Seminole signee has the opportunity to play both football and baseball at Florida State, but for now, he says there may not be time for both sports.
"I've been playing baseball right now," said Easterling. "They (FSU) told me I have the opportunity to play, I'm just thinking about it right now. I play outfield and pitcher. I'm going to think about it over time, I'm just thinking about it."
