Life after Rice

There are many potential reasons for the up and down play of quarterback Blake Mitchell during spring practice. There is the struggling offensive line, the much improved defensive line, and the inconsistent play of the receiver corps. Maybe the biggest reason, though, is Mitchell was adjusting to life without favorite target Sidney Rice, who was selected in the second round of the NFL draft over the weekend.. In order to lead the Gamecocks to a big season in 2007, Mitchell will need to make the adjustment and see the entire field, something he has been reluctant to do over the past two seasons.
