March 23, 2007 Q&A: Amarri Jackson You've lost some important guys from the receiving corps - primarily S.J. Green and Ean Randolph. What's the challenge in replacing them?

Amarri Jackson: We didn't lose a lot of guys, but we lost a lot of talent. All those guys were playmakers. We have some talented guys here now, but those guys weren't just great players, they were very good leaders. They brought a lot to the table for this team. I know I already miss Ean and S.J. and their help and their leadership. I'm pretty sure Ben Moffitt, Brouce Mompremier and Sam Miller are going to miss Stephen and Pat just as much.

Q: What has the offseason been like so far?

Jackson: We've been working hard in the weight room and the 40s. Guys are getting fast and big out here. We look good.

Q: You talked about the loss of leadership. Now that you're a senior, is that a role that you see yourself beginning to fill for this team?

Jackson: Oh yeah. I'm ready to take on leadership. Even as a sophomore and junior in this program, I was a guy who took some leadership. We don't really base it on classification. We just help each other. I get a lot from the guys in our talented secondary. They watch film on you. I ask those guys questions about how I'm running routes and what I can work on. They tell me whether it's a release or a route or "turn your head around." We kind of lead each other.
