McRae out to prove people wrong

After a year a Hargrave Military Academy and a year at Morehead State, Brandon McRae decided to take his talents elsewhere. Mississippi State was that place. After playing a role on the scout team because of transfer rules, McRae will now have a chance to try his game out in the SEC.

Due to transfer rules, McRae was more of a spectator and practice dummy during the fall, but while handling those duties to the best of his abilities, he caught some peoples' eyes. Many of his teammates and the coaches were impressed with some of the potential that he showed on the scout team. McRae, who has been one of the most impressive offensive players this spring, will get to play for more than a scholarship.

"I am just trying to get the hang of everything, going against the first team d; everything is so much faster compared to the scout team. I am just trying to learn the plays and get ready for LSU. That is my focus getting ready for the season," McRae said.

One of the hardest things to adjust to is not having football when you have had it for a while. McRae had to struggle with this last fall, as he had to watch from the bleachers.

"It is hard, but I did not let that faze me. I like big challenges, and if somebody does not trust me with something, I am going to do whatever I have to do to gain their trust, and so I had to prove it to them," he commented.
