Not flashy, but always there

The current basketball season has been very disappointing for LSU.

The Tigers, who were ranked as high as fifth in the nation in pre-season rankings, finished 11th overall in the Southeastern Conference standings.

LSU probably needs to reach Saturday's SEC tournament semifinals simply to get on the bubble for a bid to the NIT. The only way the Tigers will make a third consecutive trip to the NCAA tournament is by winning four consecutive games in Atlanta.

Glen Davis has put up similar numbers to last year, but he has not been the go-to guy needed by this season's squad. Then, Davis sat out three games in the final two weeks of the regular season due to a leg injury.

Davis was picked on the All-SEC teams that were announced this week. But, the one LSU player who continues to simply play night in and night out is Tasmin Mitchell.
