Get ready for some tight end production

Many observers have questioned the use of the tight end in LSU's offense during recent seasons.

But, with Gary Crowton replacing Jimbo Fisher as offensive coordinator, the role for the Tigers tight end will undergo some changes.

Under Fisher, the tight end was used primarily as a blocker. Keith Zinger, who missed virtually the entire 2006 season due to a stomach ailment, has caught 12 passes in his first three years.

True freshman Richard Dickson, who took over for Zinger, had six receptions. Mit Cole, who became the second tight end after Zinger went out, grabbed two passes. However, one can expect those numbers to increase in the upcoming season.
