Could Gray be the guy?

The news that Texas has backed off of running back Jermie Calhoun is still sending shockwaves through the Longhorn fan base, and it's raised the obvious question who Texas might go after at the running back position.

The Longhorns have already secured a commitment from Alief Elsik talent Jeremy Hills, but the program is looking to bring in at least one more tailback prospect in the 2008 class. One potential target is DeSoto's Cyrus Gray, who has spent the last two weekends on visits to Texas and Texas A&M.

The 6-foot, 188-pounder is now up to seven offers and he maintains that he's keeping his options open for the time being.

Gray currently holds offers from Arizona, Baylor, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, SMU and Tulsa.
