Good deflects pressure of recruiting

In a rivalry as heated as Oklahoma and Texas there are always opinions surrounding players that come down to the two national superpowers. In the case of Stephen Good of Paris, Texas most of the outside forces were those at arm's length.

However, the 6-foot-6, 300-pound Good did have those close to him who had obvious ties to a certain program. Interestingly enough it was two people who were closest to him, and even his own heart that had long been tied to the Longhorns. However, in spite of all of this the family allowed their son to do what they have deemed as the best decision for himself.

"His mother and I are real pleased with what he has done. He made his own decision, did all the research, visited everywhere he wanted to visit and made his own decision and it's the right one," Good's father, Tommy said. "He is confident with it, and we're confident with it and we're ready to go."

Kim Good says that in spite of the final choice of her son there is no denying that this was something that went against the grain of their families' long time following.
