Elite '08 star has Louisville connections

When Altoona (Pa.) athlete A.J. Alexander and his friends were younger, they always talked about getting scholarship offers and going off to college to play football. Only Alexander made it happen. Barely midway through his junior year of high school, the 5-10, 185-pound Alexander already has 11 offers to his credit.

Offers from Rutgers and Virginia Tech join those from the likes of Iowa, Maryland, Temple, Penn State, Pitt, Virginia. Louisville was a school that Alexander offered last September, but that was under the Bobby Petrino regime. Alexander said he has not talked to the new coaching staff to see if that offer is still intact, but he certainly has interest in the Cardinals if it is.
