From sleepers to superstars

The University of Tulsa announced 26 signees on Wednesday, which included four players that enrolled in December, and the Hurricane will likely add a few more later. With the 2007 class in the bag, it is time to start breaking it down for an in-depth look. A good starting point is a group of names that fall into the categories of sleeper, surprise and superstar.


It's not always easy to pick the "superstar" of a recruiting class, so we settled on two - A.J. Whitmore and Charles Opeseyitan.

'Charlie O' is the most highly-rated signee in the Golden Hurricane's 2007 class. The 3-star prospect is ranked as the No. 43 running back in the nation, the 20th-best player in the Dallas area, and 87th-best in the state of Texas.

Opeseyitan had offers from Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Iowa State, Indiana, Purdue, SMU, Colorado State, Utah and more. Many schools made late overtures, but he stuck with the Hurricane.
