The iron man of Hopatcong makes it official

As the fax machine slowly hummed and the sole piece of paper went in one side and out the other, Rutgers had pulled off yet an coup in the ever increasing popularity of New Jersey State Football. Joe Martinek, New Jersey's all time leading high school football rusher, is headed to Rutgers.

Martinek earned Associated Press first team all-state honors as a junior and was named Western New Jersey Player of the Year in 2007. He was pursued by Rutgers, Penn State, Florida, West Virginia as well as several other division one schools.
