Cameron Jordan opts for Cal

Few prospects in the talented Arizona prep system had a bigger senior year than Chandler (Ariz.) high school defensive end Cameron Jordan, a 6-foot-4, 255-pound defensive end. Ranked as one of Arizona's top 10 prep football players, BearTerritory spoke with the two-way standout today as he made his official decision.

"I am going to Cal," Jordan said proudly.

With that statement, the University of California picked up their 22nd verbal commitment in the 2007 class, and solidified a major recruiting need in the process. No other defensive position has been talked about by Cal recruiting fans more than the defensive end position. So Jordan's commitment is a significant addition. He'll pair up with St. Louis (Hawaii) high school standout Scott Smith as the bookends in this class.
