Umoh's official visit was a blast

Vanderbilt picked up a big verbal commitment earlier this recruiting period when Peach County (Ga.) three-star receiver Udom Umoh gave his pledge to the coaching staff. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound Fort Valley resident with blazing speed chose the Commodores after taking an unofficial visit to the school on a Friday.

In 2006, the Georgia Top 50 rated player caught 64 passes for 1,120 yards and 14 touchdowns while leading his Trojan team to their second straight Class 3A state championship. Umoh, a very accomplished track star, gave many opposing defenses fits with his speed, route running, and his physical play style and would go on to be named a Class 3A all-state performer.
