Saban reaches out to Marve
Plant quarterback Robert Marve was considered the prize of Alabama's 2006 offensive class to date and when Mike Shula was released he was the most often asked about commitment. Today Marve, 6-foot-1, 200-pounds, received a call for the first time from new Tide head coach Nick Saban and the two got off to a good start.
"Coach Saban called today and we had a great talk. I told him I originally committed to Alabama because I loved the school, location and felt comfortable there. Also, I liked the coaching staff and he said that he thought we would have the relationship but it would take time. He told me that he watched three games from my senior year and all my junior stuff and he was impressed. He said I was a top priority for them," Marve said.
