Back to work in Athens

Monday, the 2007 Georgia Bulldogs will begin spring semester and officially start down a road that they hope will lead them back to the Georgia Dome in early December. It is an exciting time as there is a new coach on the staff, several new players officially join the team, and last year's redshirt freshmen are eager for spring practice.

It is not known for sure when nearly hired offensive line coach Stacy Searels will move to Athens, but it is not a stretch to imagine he will be spending a lot of time in hotels in the near future. The good news for him is that UGA offensive line recruiting is finished for the upcoming class. Certainly he will be checking with the Bulldogs committed offensive line players.

As a recruiter for LSU, Searels has an impressive track record over the past two seasons that includes eight players with four star rankings. The majority of his recruiting for the Tigers was in Louisiana, but he also reeled in prospects from Texas and Georgia.

Here is a look at the 14 players he is credited for recruiting for the Bayou Bengals in the last couple of years: Matt Allen (OL, , Klein, TX) Kentravis Aubrey (DE, , Bastrop, LA) DeAngelo Benton (WR, , Bastrop, LA) Shomari Clemons (DB, , West Monroe, LA) Luther Davis (DT, , West Monroe, LA) Josh Dworaczyk (OL, , New Iberia, LA) Lazarius Levingston (DE, , Ruston, LA) Phil Loadholt (OL, , Garden City, KS) Richard Murphy (RB, , Rayville, LA) Charles Scott (RB, , Jonesboro, LA) Steven Singleton (OL, , Buford, GA) Mark Snyder (OL, , Monroe, LA) Zhamal Thomas (OL, , New Iberia, LA) D'Montreal Wilson (OL, , Rayville, LA).

Expect to hear more on Searels this week.

Meanwhile, the returning players are ready to get going.
