Is Smith wavering after hearing Steele news?

Earlier today, Florida State learned that Executive Head Coach/Linebackers Coach Kevin Steele was leaving to become the Nick Saban's new defensive coordinator at the University of Alabama. Throughout his time with the Seminoles, the 48-year coach was recognized as one of the nation's top recruiters and was named Rivals.com's Recruiter of the Year in 2005 after helping FSU secure the nation's No. 2 rated class.

With the news that Steele is off to Tuscaloosa, it could have an adverse impact on recruiting. One of Steele's top recruits for the 2007 class is Bushnell (Fla.) South Sumter linebacker Kendall Smith.

Smith, who is participating in the Rivals.com Offense-Defense All-American Bowl that will be played tonight, found out today that the coach he thought would be his position coach was moving on.
