Hudson holding firm for now

MORGANTOWN--As head coach Rich Rodriguez sifted through offensive-line coaching candidates Wednesday night, he was also putting out calls to those members of the 2007 class that former assistant head coach Rick Trickett was recruiting.

One of them is committed offensive tackle Rodney Hudson of Mobile (Ala.) B.C. Rain. Hudson (6-foot-2, 276 pounds) formed a close relationship with Trickett through the last year, as did his schoolboy coach Anthony Shamburger.

But Thursday he told WVSports.com what he probably said to Rodriguez when the Mountaineer headman made the courtesy call.

The Rivals.com 3-star recruiter is a plum in this class because he continues to receive attention from Clemson and Auburn and also because he has good, 5.22 40-yard-dash speed.
