Hawkeyes land three-star prospect

The Iowa Hawkeyes have landed a verbal commitment from three-star prospect Jacody Coleman. The 6-foot-2, 2229-pound Coleman made an official visit to Iowa City this weekend and gave the coaching staff the news just before heading for home this afternoon.

Coleman, who attends West Brook High School in Beaumont, Texas, made the visit to Iowa City this weekend with teammate Billy Chavis. While the 6-foot-4, 220-pound Chavis has not yet made his decision, the duo had a very good visit. Coleman said he will come in as a middle linebacker for the Hawkeyes.

After initially committing to Baylor back in July, Coleman reopened his recruiting this fall and visited Iowa and Missouri this month before making his decision. The three-star prospect is the fourteenth verbal commitment in Iowa's recruiting class of 2007.

HawkeyeReport.com will catch up with Coleman again for a full interview once his plane lands in Texas.
