Ingram is a Gamecock

Hamlet (N.C.) linebacker Melvin Ingram made an official visit to South Carolina during the weekend and came away impressed. So impressed, in fact, that he decided that Columbia was the place for him for the next four years.

The 6-foot-2, 224-pounder committed to the Gamecocks.

"Yes sir, I committed," Ingram said. "I just liked the whole organization and everything about it. It was the place for me."

"The visit was good," he said. "I got to meet a lot of players and got to meet all of the coaches and watch a couple of games, things like that."

Ingram got the chance to sit down and speak with his South Carolina recruiter, tight ends and special teams coach Fred Chatham, Gamecocks defensive coordinator Tyrone Nix and head coach Steve Spurrier.
