Butler Coach: Houston to take more visits

When North Carolina named Butch Davis as their new head coach last week, most analysts felt it would be a positive in terms of recruiting and help retain many of the commitments they had secured before John Bunting's dismissal. One of those Tar Heel commitments was Mathews (N.C.) Butler running back Ryan Houston, but the naming of a new coach may not mean he is solid again to North Carolina.

The 6-2, 245-pound Houston made a commitment to North Carolina last June and was solid with the Tar Heels until there started to be concern whether on not Bunting would be retained in Chapel Hill following the 2006 season. That situation has run the full course with Davis being named as Bunting's replacement, but Houston will still take a couple looks around to make sure North Carolina is still the place for him.
