Houston-area star starting to emerge

When you look at recruiting inside the Texas state borders for the 2008 year, there are a plethora of big names that figure to rate among the nation's very best.

From Justin Johnson to Stephen Good to RJ Washington, the talent poll at the top if as deep as it is varied. Another name that figures to become a household name before too long is Klein (Texas) Oak star athlete DeSean Hales.

The 5-10, 165-pound Hales is currently rated as the state's No.8 prospect in the Lone Star Recruiting rankings. Although he already has scholarship offers from Nebraska and Texas Tech, a long play-off run could send his recruiting stock into the stratosphere.
