Weathering the storm

Embattled. Beleaguered.

These are a just a few of the adjectives no head coach wants associated with his title. For the first time in his tenure at Alabama, they might best describe Mike Shula's status in Tuscaloosa.

As much as the Tide nation tried to convince its collective self that this was the year to show restraint in the face of certain losses, most of the compassion and understanding that was bandied about in the offseason went out the window in Knoxville three weeks ago.
