ACC: Two new leaders for Culliver?

North Carolina State appears to be falling out of favor with former commitment Chris Culliver. After a trip to Clemson last week, Culliver has the Tigers along with Florida leading for his services. Also, Maryland played host to a pair of five-star visitors for the big win over Florida State. This and much more on each team in the ACC Blitz.

The Eagles offered Winter Springs, Fla. tight end Lars Anderson. The 6-foot-4, 224-pounder is considering an official visit to Boston College possibly in early December. Boston College is one of three leaders for Anderson along with North Carolina State and Michigan State…Three-star athlete Mason Robinson has scheduled an official visit to Boston College. The 5-foot-9, 180-pounder plans to make his way to Chestnut Hill on December 9th. He is also looking at going to Rutgers and Iowa for trips in December. Robinson has already taken an official visit to Michigan State. Robinson is a must get for the Eagles.

Clemson has made the cut for Rivals250 defensive end Tony Tucker. Tucker is planning to take an official visit to Clemson in the second week of January…The Tigers are one of three favorites for Beaumont (Tex.) Westbrook athlete Billy Chavis along with Iowa and Missouri. Chavis plans to take an official sometime soon to Clemson…The Tigers will be receiving an official visit from four-star linebacker Brandon Hicks. Currently they are a leader along with LSU…Five-star wide receiver Dwight Jones is still firmly committed to UNC, but if assistant Marvin Sanders doesn't stay Jones may look elsewhere and says that Clemson along with Tennessee and possibly Florida would be in the mix.

Bellport, N.Y. wide receiver Denzel Person still holds a lone official offer from Duke. The 6-foot-4, 215-pounder continues to maintain that he's interested in the Blue Devils, but plans to wait until after the season before taking visits. He also wants to wait t see who else will offer…The Blue Devils are vying for an official visit from Rivals100 running back Armando Allen. The Hialeah (Fla.) Miami Lakes prospect is seeing the most interest from Notre Dame, Tennessee and Florida, but maintains that there aren't any favorites at this time.

The Seminoles have lined up an official visit from Rivals250 defensive end Jamar Jackson. The Richmond (Va.) Varina star plans to take his fifth and final official to Tallahassee on November 11th. Jackson plans to make his decision between Florida State, Clemson, Boston College, NC State, Virginia Tech and Louisville soon after the trip to Florida State...Three-star junior college defensive end Brian Coulter has scheduled his first official visit to Florida State. The 6-foot-4, 255-pounder plans to take his official to Tallahassee on November 24th. Currently the Seminoles are one of three leaders along with Tennessee and Florida….Wide receiver Arrelious Benn is expected to decide sometime next week and sources say it will come down to FSU and Illinois.

The Yellow Jackets added two commitments this week. The first came early from New Market (Ala.) Sparkman defensive end Albert Rocker. The 6-foot-1, 196-pounder pledged to the Ramblin' Wreck over offers from Louisville, Purdue, Vanderbilt and Troy…Georgia Tech followed that up with a commitment from Rivals250 athlete Cedric Everson of Detroit (Mich.) Mumford. The four-star prospect committed to the Yellow Jackets while on his official visit to Atlanta. He committed to them over offers from Florida, Miami, Iowa, Penn State, UCLA and numerous others…Four-star defensive end Tony Tucker has scheduled an official visit to Atlanta for December 9th.

Maryland received an unofficial visit from five-star defensive tackle Marvin Austin over the weekend. The 6-foot-2, 291-pounder was impressed by the way Maryland beat the Seminoles. The Terrapins continue to be in Austin's top six along with Florida State, Miami, Illinois, Tennessee and Southern Cal…Another five-star D.C. prospect in College Park over the weekend was the nation's No. 2 wideout Arrelious Benn. Benn maintains he really enjoyed the visit to Maryland. The Terps are one of four schools still in the hunt for Benn along with Florida State, Notre Dame and Illinois. He plans to make a decision in the next couple weeks and sources say the Terps trail FSU and Illinois.

Virginia wide receiver Jay Smith reportedly has the Hurricanes in his final two. Smith is trying to make it down to Miami for a visit this weekend when they face off against another one of his favorites, Virginia Tech…Homestead, Fla. safety Joseph Nicolas recently added an offer from Miami. Nicolas plans to take an official visit to South Beach on January 19th. He is setting up trips to Auburn, Wisconsin and Louisville and already visited Arizona State…Five-star defensive end Martez Wilson has scheduled an official visit to Miami on December 15th. They are in his top five along with USC, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Illinois.

Neeses (S.C.) Hunter-Kinard-Tyler defensive tackle William Brimfield has decommitted from the Tar Heels since news of John Bunting's departure. The 6-foot-6, 280-pounder maintains he's still looking at North Carolina and has an official scheduled to Chapel Hill in January. He also plans to take officials to South Carolina and Tennessee and is considering ones to North Carolina State and Clemson…Two Tar Heel commitments have confirmed they will likely stick it out with North Carolina. Those players include South Carolina offensive lineman Chris Gray and Georgia athlete Fonterrian Ingram.

Worthington plans to take trips to Raleigh along with North Carolina, East Carolina, Clemson and South Carolina although appears to be leaning towards a professional baseball career…Four-star running back Dale Martin has NC State in his top four along with Iowa, Wisconsin and Tennessee. Martin hasn't scheduled visits yet.

The Cavaliers are one of two leaders for Fork Union, Va. linebacker Jarrell Miller. Miller doesn't hold an offer from Virginia, but he does have good ties with assistant Mike London and Virginia is apparently interested…Offensive tackle Lamar Milstead appears to have the Cavaliers leading for his services now that John Bunting is out at North Carolina. He has been calling the Virginia coaches regularly…Four-star offensive tackle John Elliott continues to have Virginia in his top seven along with Boston College, Maryland, Michigan, UNC, Rutgers and West Virginia. Elliott still plans to cut his list to five after the season and take visits before deciding.

Virginia Tech is likely to receive an official visit from five-star Norcross (Ga.) Greater Atlanta Christian tailback Caleb King. The 5-foot-11, 186-pounder has the Hokies in his top seven and is very interested in taking one of his officials to Blacksburg along with Southern Cal. King grew up a fan of the Hokies and particularly former Tech star Kevin Jones…The Hokies are starting to look at junior college linebacker Larry Asante. The coaching staff has been in touch with the 6-foot-1, 225-pounder's coach at Coffeyville Community College. He maintains that if Tech offered, he'd likely accept on the spot.

Three-star defensive end Wesley Saunders continues to consider an official visit to Wake Forest. The Durham (N.C.) Riverside prospect already took a visit to Louisville. He has plans to go to South Carolina on December 1st along with a trip to Florida State. Although not confirmed yet, trips seem likely to Clemson and Wake Forest too…New Jersey tight end Matt Boyer took a quiet official visit to Winston-Salem a few weeks back. Boyer thoroughly enjoyed the trip there and appeared to like it more than his visit to Connecticut. Boyer still plans to take more visits including one to Northwestern on December 1st.
