Best class ever?

Louisville highly-talented freshman class had a monster scrimmage Friday night at Cardinal Arena. With starters Brandon Jenkins out while recovering from a broken leg, Juan Palacios out with a bruised knee early in the scrimmage and center David Padgett still recovering from knee surgeries, the freshman class had fans buzzing about their potential.

Edgar Sosa, a 6-foot point guard from Brooklyn, N.Y., led the White team to a 85-77 victory with 23 points. Power forward Derrick Caracter, a Rivals.com five-star recruit, had 19 points and 12 rebounds and led both teams with three blocks. Caracter, who met coach Rick Pitino's weight loss goal of 45 pounds just hours before the scrimmage, couldn't be stopped in the low block. Wisconsin shooting guard Jerry Smith had 15 points and three steals for the White team on 50 percent shooting from the field.

For the Red team, sophomore Terrence Williams had 30 points and 10 rebounds, but Pitino said freshman small forward Earl Clark was more impressive.
