Is FSU a fit for Benn?

Washington (D.C.) Dunbar wide receiver Arrelious Benn took his official visit to Florida State this weekend. Were the 'Noles able to rise in the race for the nation's No. 2 wide receiver.

"It was good, I liked it a lot," said the 6-foot-1, 210-pounder. "They really need wide receivers, they don't have a lot of depth and I don't think they have anyone with my kind of ability. I think I could get a lot of early time there and make an impact."

Benn said he didn't have one host on his visit.

"I hung around Drew Weatherford, Lorenzo Booker and Myron Rolle a lot," he said. "The players seemed cool and I like the area. FSU needs some help on offense and I like the passing game. He (Weatherford) just needs someone to throw the ball to."

So where does this put the 'Noles in the battle for Benn?

"They are right up there," he said. "I don't have a leader so all four of my schools are even, but FSU didn't do anything to hurt themselves. It's a great place."

Benn has already visited Illinois and Notre Dame and will take his last official visit this upcoming weekend to Maryland. After that?

"Then it's decision time," he said. "I might take a few weeks to narrow things down and decide but I'm enrolling early so I need to figure this out soon."

Benn's Dunbar team beat Coolidge High School on ESPNU on Friday night. He had five catches for 130 yards but was kept out of the end zone.

"I'm not sure why I didn't get thrown at more," he said. "But we won, so that's the bottom line."
