After he got burned for a touchdown pass early, Eric Weddle exacted about 10,000 percent revenge, rushing for a touchdown on a QB keeper and returning two of his three picks for scores as well. He could have had a fourth interception on a Darren Mougey end-of-half hail mary, but Weddle did the Chris Berman-preferred thing and knocked it down.

The Utes (3-1) had five interceptions and a fumble recovery on the night, giving them a hearty 12 turnovers in the last two games. San Diego State (0-3) did manage to rush for 204 yards, but a lot of that came on the final drive when the Talavous and Soliais were already in their hypersleep chambers. Gabe Long continued to prove that spring practice, fall camp and the first two weeks of the season are for suckers, or non-five star recruits. He had two tackles for loss and a sack.
