Texas Tech double dips

Texas Tech may need to air its next reality television show on VH1. Why? The Red Raiders had the Best Week Ever last week as Bobby Knight and crew reeled in three commitments for the class of 2007.

After securing a verbal commitment from Plano (Texas) point guard John Roberson earlier in the week, Texas Tech scored big on Sunday landing two more Lone Star State prospects.

Houston native Mike Singletary, a 6-foot-5, 210-pound small forward from Kingwood High School, and Duncanville forward D'walyn Roberts are ready to enroll in Knight school with Roberson. The pair visited Lubbock and decided to make their decisions final.

"I felt wanted and that was comforting," Singletary told RedRaiderSports.com. "I felt like I was part of a family, they made me feel like one of their own. That was big for me."

Roberts said he is looking forward to playing with his future in-state teammates.

"It's going to be real good [to play with them]," said Roberts. "We're going to be real good."

Singletary also considered Oklahoma State. Roberts looked at Baylor and Nebraska. Roberson considered SMU and Kansas State.

Ironically enough, Roberson's team beat Singletary's Kingwood team in the state championship game last spring.

The trio is best group of prospects Knight has reeled in since his balanced group from two years ago.
